A little something from the Bride
What advice would you give future brides?
If I could go back and give myself this advice, it would be three things:
Stay True to Yourself: Amidst all the planning and excitement, remember that your wedding day should reflect you and your partner's personalities and values. Don't feel pressured to conform to others' expectations or traditions if they don't resonate with you. It can be challenging these days because of social media, but just remember the WHY and that it is a day celebrating the love you have for you and your partner.
Focus on What Matters: While the details are important, remember that the most significant aspect of your wedding day is celebrating your love and commitment to each other. Things may not always go according to plan, but in the grand scheme of things, those details will not matter if you felt the love and support from your family and friends that day - that is what truly matters!
Invest in Photography: Your wedding day will go by in a blur - a literal fever dream, so invest in a talented photographer who aligns with your vision to capture all the special moments throughout the day and night. If you’re more laid-back and prefer candid shots, go with a photographer who specializes in that. If you want editorial, do your research and hire a photographer who is talented in that. I wanted my partner to feel super comfortable on our wedding day as he doesn’t like being behind the camera, so we opted for candid photos, which turned out so beautiful. We will cherish these photos and memories forever!
If you were to choose one favorite supplier who would it be?
I can't choose just one! We were truly blessed with an amazing team behind us, which made our wedding day incredibly memorable for us, our family, and our friends. We want to give special mentions below:
The Kurated Co - Kim is a visionary machine and pulled everything together for us on the day. Initially, I only hired her for our champagne tower, but then quickly realized she does it all, so I had to have her for everything else!
Bella Mia Events - a super-organized planner who makes a mean runsheet. We had already planned most of our wedding before we hired Bella, so she came to the rescue for the last few weeks to tie all the admin together, allowing us to relax during the weeks leading up to our wedding.
My glam squad, Nhi and Michelle - I had my very first glam session with them many years ago in Melbourne, and it was a full-circle moment having them glam me again on my wedding day. I felt so beautiful because of them.
Miramare Gardens - we can't thank them enough; truly the best in the business and the most gorgeous venue, picturesque from every angle!
Russell Stafford Photography - we cried when we received our photos. They truly captured the day so perfectly, and our family may or may not have had our wedding photos played on loop on the big screen every hour of the day.
Kaeku Cake - our cousin is a talented baker and made the most gorgeous yet simple cake for us on our wedding day. Highly recommend!
Xela Studio - Alex is truly a master in her craft. I tried to be a DIY bride, but it was a complete disaster, so she pulled through for me at the last minute with our stationery, and it looked incredible.
SAVVY Entertainment + Elite Dancefloors - Chris on the decks kept Hass' dancefloor burning all day and night; our family and friends did not stop dancing for hours on end!
Roll Up in a Rolls - Tony and Mary are the loveliest people to deal with; their drivers were so generous with their time and made the commute to our wedding venue so enjoyable. The cars made a stunning addition to our wedding photos too.
Rebekah the Harpist - she is absolutely breathtaking and a gorgeous human being. She was the perfect detail to tie our ceremony and canape hour together with her amazing talents; can't recommend her enough.
No Filter Photobooth + Amore Day Studio - we opted out of wedding favors and hired these ladies instead. Rosa and Sophie are simply amazing, and their photobooths literally make you look and feel like a celebrity! Cai is a talented artist, and we hired her for her live illustrations. It made the perfect wedding gift for our guests to have themselves drawn with a loved one. We've been over to a couple of our friends' homes and can see the photobooth photos and the drawings on display, which just warms our hearts so much! Highly recommend these girls at your wedding.
Content Creators - you definitely need them on your wedding day to capture all of the BTS and little moments in between. The day went by so quickly, so it was so nice to wake up to iPhone videos and photos the very next day for the debrief with friends and family. We opted out of videography for content creators, and we have no regrets at all!
Lastly, we wouldn't be legally married, and the day would have been so dull without our dear friends Michelle and Patrick. Michelle is incredible at her job as a celebrant, and our friend Patrick, well, let's just say he sure can move a crowd! The duo everyone needs at their wedding.
